Company Policy

QUALITY POLICY

Portabagagli del Porto di Venezia Soc. Coop. has been handling luggage and supplies in the port of Venice since 1937, and has always aimed at meeting cruise ship traffic needs, in compliance with safety regulations, the client company’s (explicit and implicit) requirements, and passenger expectations.

To achieve these goals, Portabagagli del Porto di Venezia Soc. Coop. deems it essential to define and achieve a quality management system which is capable of supporting the organisation in achieving critical synergy targets by:

  • Improving its quality system and maintaining its system certification, that was issued by an accredited body proving the worthiness of quality organisations with independent judgment, in accordance with applicable reference standard UNI EN ISO 9001;
  • Defining quality objectives consistent with its own Policy and periodically reviewing them;
  • Keeping company risks monitored and under control, and defining appropriate risk reduction actions, should danger situations arise jeopardising the company business continuity;
  • Reviewing the Quality Management System, its context and associated risks and opportunities on a yearly basis, in order to assess its continued suitability, adequacy and effectiveness, as well as implementing appropriate continuous improvement actions;
  • Empowering the staff and improving their knowledge and skills on the quality of the service provided to the Customer – as staff contribution and motivation are major keys to achieve goals;
  • Detecting and investigating any customer reports, non-conformities or other findings, with a view to improving the quality of the service provided through appropriate corrective actions;
    Making its Quality Policy available to Stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Complying with the laws in force, contractual regulations and applicable requirements.

The ISO 9001 Quality Management System of Portabagagli del Porto di Venezia Soc. Coop is based on the following principles:

  • Focus on the Customer: to understand their needs, meet their requirements and aim to exceed their expectations;
  • Leadership: to establish unity of purpose and direction, and create the proper conditions for people to take an active part in achieving quality objectives;
  • People’s active involvement: it is the company’s driving force, it being essential to increase the company’s ability to create and deliver value;
  • Process approach: to achieve the expected results more effectively by planning them based on the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” (PDCA) cycle;
  • Improvement: a permanent goal of the company;
  • Evidence-based decision-making process: because effective decisions are focused on a logical, intuitive analysis of data, real information and risks, according to a “Risk-Based Thinking” approach;
  • Relationship management: the company manages relationships with its major stakeholders to score lasting success.
